Beat for Beat

Atle Pettersen has proven to be one of Norway’s most popular and versatile entertainers.

Despite of his young age, Atle Pettersen (25) has proven to be one of Norway’s most popular and versatile entertainers. This, combined with stage experience from pop, rock, dance and various TV shows e.g., has given him a resume it is hard to compete with.
Over the last year, Atle has also proven to be a natural born TV host. As a result, he was recently chosen to replace one of our most beloved TV hosts Ivar Dyrhaug, in the popular NRK-show «Beat for Beat» – Norway’s biggest entertainment program with around one million viewers every Friday night. Over the last year, Atle Pettersen has successfully hosted various TV programs and shows. He hosted the traditional TV-show «NRK Julemorgen» together with Haddy N’jie last Christmas, before hosting the music show «VG Lista Rådhusplassen» together with Live Nelvik later on this spring. He most recently hosted the TV-program «NRK Sommeråpent» this summer, together with Nadia Hasnaoui. His newfound role hosting «Beat for Beat» is nevertheless his biggest accomplishment as a host so far, and a major vote of confidence from the hosting channel NRK.
Above all, it is as an artist and musician most of us know Atle Pettersen. Music has always been an important part of the talented artist’s life, and over the last few years, he has toured both as a solo artist as well as with his own rock band «The Scheen» – besides doing a wide range of event- and emcee jobs. Atle also fronts the successful Beatles show «It Was Fifty Years Ago Today» – a series of concerts where all recorded Beatles material from one specific year at a time is performed on stage; fifty years after the songs were originally released. The show tours around the whole country, and has so far proven to be a huge success.
As if this was not enough, Atle Pettersen will also star in his own show «Like Frankie» this fall, together with The Norwegian Wind Ensemble (DNBE). This year’s tour follows up the success from last year, honoring the crooner-genre. The show consists of both self-composed and special written songs, as well as interpretations of different genres played by a big band.
